Looking Forward to...?

I just can't get over how great all of you have been in the merge, renovation and move to the west side of town.  I know that none of these recent changes have been easy but you have all acted like real troopers.  I have heard minamal complaints and am excited to see the seats filled every week so far.  With Christmas coming I know that it will be easy to get caught up in the business of things looking forward to the big day when we open presents, eat a family meal and prepare for the New Years Holiday.  

However, I hope you also are looking foward to the coming of Christ.  Advent is the time we look forward to the second coming of Christ by celebrating His first coming as a baby born of the Virgin Mary.  I think this is important becasue we can be so focused on the history of Christmas that we forget the Joy we are supposed to have every year looking forward to something really terrific.  

Don't make Christmas about looking back in fond rememberance...but make it about looking forward to the Joy of the second coming.  Jesus came as a helpless baby the first time...He will come as a victorious King the second.  If we are ready, if we will look forward with great anticipation we will not be disappointed.
