Celebrate Peace

John 14:27(ESV)

27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Looking Forward to...?

I just can't get over how great all of you have been in the merge, renovation and move to the west side of town.  I know that none of these recent changes have been easy but you have all acted like real troopers.  I have heard minamal complaints and am excited to see the seats filled every week so far.  With Christmas coming I know that it will be easy to get caught up in the business of things looking forward to the big day when we open presents, eat a family meal and prepare for the New Years Holiday.

Thanks!

Seventeen years ago this Thanksgiving Crickett and I had the best Thanksgiving ever.  Caleb Scott Moore was born Thanksgiving Day of 1994.  We did not have any Turkey, dressing or Pumpkin Pie on that day, just a bundle of Joy after a long night of pain and being nervous.  Yet…that day will always be the greatest Thanksgiving day for Crickett and I.

Alone

I know the word alone is not a very comforting word.  When we think of being alone we often visualize isolation, loneliness and just being bored with life.  In that sense yes being alone is not a very attractive concept.

What Are You Living For

We live in a very busy society.  It seems that even in a small town whenever the church plans an event or even wants to hold regular services there are a million other things happening that people want to be a part of.  It is important to be a part of these other events in the name of community involvement or even in the name of community pride...however when does choosing these other things cross the line to living for the secular instead of the sacred?

Scott's Thoughts March 2011

“Do not think of your self more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.” Romans 12:3 (NIV)

Isn't it Funny

Isn't it funny how things change in life.  As I was with one of our students on a college trip to MNU I was struck by how much things have changed but also by how many things stay the same.

As I walked through the dorms I once terrorized I noticed that people still played video games, people still slept till 2 p.m. , the dorms still smelled the same the rooms were the same size and the prayer rooms in the dorm are still used for everything but prayer.  Yes, dorm life is pretty much the same today as when I was in school.

Faith Comes From the Word Of God
